Kelly Hoppen is a world-renowned British designer who has pioneered a simple yet opulent style that has permeated interior design at every level. The Brtish Designer has managed to create some of the most unique collections, one of which is the unique collection she developed with Chesney’s. FOOGO blog will be showing you some of the most useful hints that she gave in regards to handling fireplaces in the home.

The Kelly Hoppen Collection consists of a new designer collection released originally around the end of 2017. This set of mantles presented a couple of fireplaces all made by famous British Interior Designer Kelly Hoppen alongside Chesneys. It’s a wonderful set of products defined by their clean design as well as by a feeling of opulence that characterizes this group of fireplaces.

Therefore, it’s no wonder that Kelly Hoppen is one of the top interior designers who are more familiarized with this element of home decor. In an Instagram post on her professional profile she gave some useful hints that we will quote below:
“A fireplace is a natural focal point in a home. They are inviting and welcoming. There’s nothing like gathering around a fire on a cold winter’s day. They also add another dimension to space. Chimney breasts can create symmetry in asymmetric rooms and provide textural contrast. Exposed brick, for example, is a stunning organic material that oozes pattern, texture and colour(…)“

Kelly Hoppen’s advice is a clear example of how the fireplace as a home element remains pretty relevant these days. The inviting nature of these elements ends up harmonizing and creating a focal point that helps in the orientation of the rest of the decorative elements. The British designer also has a couple of remarks on the styles you can choose from:
“If you inherit a fireplace that is mediocre or not harmonious with the architectural style of the property, rip it out. You can find a new fireplace that will reflect the age of the house at a reclamation yard. They are brimming with stunning period options of all shapes and sizes. You won’t be short on choice. Alternatively, you could opt for a striking contemporary fireplace. To emphasise the horizontal plane in a room, choose a long-low rectangular design (…)”

Indeed the fireplace market is as varied and still pretty relevant in the modern ages. Vintage styles can fit pretty well in a contemporary styled scenario, just the same way as a modern styled mantle can give a special touch to a mid-century living room. There is a lot to choose from and the market has many luxury options for you.
