Martyn Lawrence Bullard is a multi-award-winning Los Angeles based interior designer best known for having a broad range of styles and eclectic, sophisticated and always inviting interiors. Among one of his most recent interior design works is the take he gave to Kylie Jenner’s exquisite mansion in Hidden Hills. FOOGO blog will venture into this luxury interior work in order to discover the style Bullard gave in this case.

The best way to define Kylie Jenner’s home right now is as a space animated with pop brio and youthful energy. As Martyn Lawrence Bullard has explained to Architectural Digest, “Kylie is the ultimate celebrity, the ultimate influencer,” and despite the fact that this A-lister is a businesswoman, she was definitely a person who was looking for a “fresh, fun vibe” into her household.

It was clear to Martyn Lawrence Bullard that Jenner wanted pink incorporated into her household. With that in mind, the designer took it upon himself to add a layer of “sumptuousness”, fitting the colour into that request through the use of materials such as velvet, silk, alpaca, and shearling to give it a grown-up, luxurious feel.

On the more glittery end of the spectrum are the white lacquer-and-acrylic grand piano in Jenner’s monochromatic, Old/New Hollywood living room; the gold-leafed ceiling of the dining room; vintage Lucite furniture by Charles Hollis Jones; and reflective wall coverings galore. On the plus side of the equation, Bullard deployed carpets of Patagonian shearling, alpaca, and silk; snow leopard–patterned velvet on the vintage Milo Baughman barstools in the lounge; and fur bedcovers.

“Interior design is such a personal business, and when you do it for almost a complete family unit, it has been a really cool experience seeing the different personalities cross over with family traditions and similarities.”
