Jamie Bush is a unique interior designer widely recognizable for his prestigious settings. Having grown up in Long Island, the designer explored the whole world, in order to educate himself into the design area, with a focus on organic modernism. The unique project that we bring you today is a lovely example of a dream home to have in a faraway paradise. FOOGO blog will be taking you in a tour inside this amazing home

In a statement to Architectural Digest, Jamie Bush has defined this home as a “ magical house in a magical spot”. The by-the-sea residence ended up turning into the escapade home of many people’s dreams. Looking at the interior’s photos we can definitely see why.

The interior decor almost reminds us of the sensation of being on board a ship, beautifully enhanced by the mid-century decor style which prevails throughout the home. More than a restoration project, for Jamie Bush, this was a matter of maintaining the home’s essence almost intact. For example, the steel beams (originally there with the home) were left exposed, only being treated with a newly waxed finish. You can also find the quartzite flagstones meticulously pieced together to create floorings that flow from the interiors to the exterior area where a pool is located.

When it comes to the furnishings, you can feel the vintage atmosphere in more than one room: plaster walls, carved-stone sinks, custom bronze hardware, and hemp-and-silk rugs, are some of the dominant factors in many home divisions.

Of course, we had to mention the two unique fireplaces neatly placed in two areas of the home: inside and outside. The outdoor linear furniture is a unique addition to the pool area, not only providing a certain warmth for the area but also being the source of a unique scenario in which the flames will certainly enhance this area by nighttime.

On the other hand, the fireplace placed inside of the living room is a welcoming addition. In this case, we are presented with a more cosier scenario with the compressed fireplace being surrounded by a Scandinavian-like decor, dominated by minimalism, wooden finishes in the walls and ceiling, as well as by some very comfortable fabric choices in the furniture. These two lovely fireplace examples just come to show that this unique centrepiece can be the decor main element in either Winter or Summer.
